This is the second time i've visited this mine. The first time it was flooded. I needed dry boots for Ben Lawers the next day so couldn't go in.
The second time i wasn't surprised to see it was still flooded, possibly even more flooded, but i didn't need dry boots anymore.
There were these white rabbits dotted about the place. Which i thought was an Alice in Wonderland reference. But then i watched Monty Python and the Holy Grail last night, there was a scene where a white rabbit was guarding a cave and recognised the entrance to the mine!
I went in one entrance and it just lead to a bunch of dead ends and one flooded shaft.
Then went in the other entrance and it was about a foot deep of clay mud under two feet of water. The water was freezing as well. I could feel my testicles recoil in horror as the water went past my knees.
So a bit disappointing i went twice and still didn't get anywhere.

Black Cuillin part 2
On this route i went up Coir an Eich to the summit of Sgurr á Mhadaidh then along the top of the ridge covering Sgurr Eadar da Choire, Sgurr á Ghreadaidh, Sgurr Thormaid up to Sgurr na Banachdich, then across the ridge that sticks out to the west to Sgurr nan Gobhar.
Sgurr means peak.
I had quite a serious accident this time round. I was lining up my tripod for a shot when i slipped onto my side, crushing my custard creams that were in my pocket.
Sgurr nan Gobhar was a last minute addition. I didn't know if there was a way down from the end of it but then i saw this guy running across it so though there must be.
I eventually caught up with him and asked him. To which he replied, "Och ye shudna followed me pal! I ne'er bin here in ma life!"
We wished each other good luck and he took off down the side somewhere and i carried onto the end.

Good view at the end. |
Had to slide down here to get down. Who even needs paths when you've got lethal stone slides. |

Garbh-bheinn and Belig
Due to the limiting factors of the weather, this was the only scramble i could do today. Seemed like a waste of time compared to the Cuillin ridge. There was no path there or back either, had to wade through a bog. Nice views though.
Skyline of the Black Cuillin. |
Why did i come up here? |
Seen some orchids on the way back. |

Old Man of Storr
I wasn't gonna go here but then i watched Prometheus and it was in one of the opening scenes so i had to. That cave wasn't there.
Also i seen someone who i used to work with. Maybe they had also watched Prometheus the night before.
